Celebrating local election departments that meet high standards
The Alliance is committed to developing voluntary, nonpartisan election administration standards, supporting election officials in improving operations, and inspiring them to excellence.
The new Alliance certification program, to be launched in 2025, will recognize election departments’ performance alongside the Alliance nonpartisan standards. A voluntary framework that includes self-study, the certification program will provide nonpartisan support and incentives to local election departments to meet high standards. Certified election offices will have:
- election operations with improved security and accessibility
- greater public trust in the election process
- data to advocate for increased public funding for their election office where needed
